Operating Instructions
"There is no one who loves pain itself, who seeks after it and wants to have it, simply because it is pain..."
- Make sure to consult your owner's manual and review their specific steps on how to change a wheel for your vehicle.
- Always engage the parking brake of the vehicle when preparing to change a wheel. This will minimize the possibility of the vehicle rolling.
- If the vehicle has a hubcap covering the lug nuts, it's easier to remove the hubcap of the wheel before lifting the vehicle with the jack. If the lug nuts of the wheel are exposed, you can skip ahead to Step 6.
- Using the lug wrench, turn the lug nuts of the wheel that you are removing counterclockwise until you break their resistance. You may have to use force by using your foot or all of your body weight if necessary. Loosen the lug nuts of the wheel that you are removing about 1/4 to 1/2 of a turn, but don't remove them completely yet.
- To safely lift and avoid damage to vehicle, follow the instructions for jack placement in your vehicle owner's manual.
- With the jack properly positioned, raise the vehicle until the wheel that is being removed is about 15 centimetres above the ground. Never put any part of your body under the vehicle during or after raising the vehicle with the jack.
- Position the fork of the Fukulatool underneath the wheel that is being removed.
- Remove the lug nuts of the wheel that is being removed all the way
- Engage the Fukulatool by placing one hand on handle of the Fukulatool until the wheel is completely free from the hub behind it and resting on the fork of the Fukulatool. Wheel the wheel away to its storage area with the Fukulatool, whilst still holding the top of the wheel with one hand.
- Place the replacement wheel on the fork of the Fukulatool in a vertical position and wheel it to the empty hub, whilst holding the top of the replacement wheel secure with one hand.
- Now position the replacement wheel on the Fukulatool as close to the hub as possible and proceed to engage the Fukulatool stand by using one or both hands to rotate the replacement wheel on the rotating sleeves of the Fukulatool until the holes of the rim of the wheel line up with the studs on the hub.
- Ease the replacement wheel onto the studs on the hub until the studs show through the rim. If necessary, raise or lower the Fukulatool by lifting or lowering the handle manually.
- Put the lug nuts back onto the studs on the hub and tighten them all the way by hand. Once they are all on, check each one again, tightening as much as possible.
- Remove the Fukulatool and use the jack to lower the vehicle so that the replacement wheel is resting on the ground but the full weight of the vehicle isn't fully on the replacement wheel. At this point, you should tighten the lug nuts with the lug wrench, turning clockwise, as much as you can, by pushing down on the lug wrench with the full weight of your body.
- Lower the vehicle completely to the ground with the jack. Give the lug nuts another pull with the wrench to ensure that they are as tight as possible.
- If you have removed a hubcap from the wheel that you removed, and it fits onto the replacement wheel, put the hubcap back into place in the same way that you removed it initially.
- Return the Fukulatool and the jack to the storage area.
